New Orleans is the proverbial tale of two cities. For some reason my friends at the tourism commission don’t want us to call it that, but it is.
New Orleans is open for business. The French Quarter is open for fun... and it’s cleaner than it has ever been. The central business district is thriving. The convention business is expected to be back at full volume by the end of 2008.
On the other hand, in the 80% of the city that flooded are truly sad to see. An estimated 250,000 homes were destroyed. Some have been torn down; some remain. Some people have rebuilt their homes, while next door is the neighbor’s lot is over grown and filled with debris.

I believe New Orleans is a living classroom. My goal is to keep history from repeating itself by helping people from around the world see the reality, understand the impact and take action.
